THE ESTABLISMENT OF “WORLD TURKISH BUSINESS COUNCIL” AND GENERAL INFORMATION

Founded with the decision taken by DEİK (Dış Ekonomik İlişkiler Kurulu - Foreign Economic Relations Board) on 26.12.2007 and by TOBB on 24.01.2008, as a part of DEİK; DTİK (Dünya Türk İş Konseyi - World Turkish Business Council) aims to gather all the small dispersed networks of Turkish entrepreneurs and successful Turkish professionals, who have gained authority in decision-making processes of big international companies abroad, under one big structure to waken and enhance the lobbying activities.

The president of the DTİK is Mr. M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and the president of the High Advisory Board of DTİK is Mr. Muhtar Kent (Chairman of the Coca Cola Company). DTİK is the only business council with a special purpose, a structure where there is no place for political concerns but a common goal for all: bringing together the whole Turkish business community, business associations, foundations and other similar Turkish organizations from 5 continents under the same roof.

The main goal of “World Turkish Business Council” (DTİK) is to boost the commercial and economical relations among the Turkish business community settled outside Turkey, to strengthen and disseminate the Turkish diaspora further, to create one main center for all kinds of problems that the Turkish entrepreneurs face abroad, and to lead the bids to establish a stronger image for Turkey in the World.

 

THE STRUCTURE OF WORLD TURKISH BUSINESS COUNCIL

Members of DTİK consist of those who attended to the General Assembly of DTİK from abroad and which are also considered to be the members of regional assemblies (members of associations, foundations, federations and etc which are established by Turkish entrepreneurs and/or professionals abroad, individual entrepreneurs and professionals), TOBB (Türkiye Odalar ve Borsalar Birliği – The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey) Board of Directors, Presidents of Councils of TOBB, The members of the Administrative Board and the Board of Supervisors of DEİK consist of the presidents of DEİK’s founding institutions and DEİK Business Councils.
